If you’re sitting there waiting for a label to discover how amazing your music is, I’ll advise you to 
get used to that couch. 

Realistically speaking, the only people who care how good your music is are your family, friends 

and fans.

Unfortunately, record labels don’t notice talent – they notice following.

  • How many fans you got?
  • How many real followers you got?
  • How much social influence does your 

brand have?

If you’re not already doing it big on your own, then you’re not reaching the radars of 

the big fish you seek. 

I’m sure you’re good at what you do, but how do you expect to reach fans at all if you’re sitting 

around thinking you’re entitled to some big fantasy investment instead of investing what you 

already have into yourself?

A Vision to Succeed and Empower the World

You have to go out there and let the people know what you do, why 

you do it and give them the chances to join the team.

 Do something special. 

Make a statement. 

Gain respect and get a crowd, then you’ll realize you don’t even need a label to do what you’re 

already doing yourself.

Ironically, that’s when the labels will call because now you’re making 

money without them! 

I know too many talented underground artists with egos that prevent them from being seen. As 

a performer I’ve done big shows, and as a writer I’ve penned for huge artists and producers.

But instead of holding a sense of entitlement to stardom, I’m still out here playing my role as the 

hungry up-and-coming artist. After all, as long as I’m new to somebody then up-and-coming I 

remain, right?



No one owes you anything, but if you still need to feel entitled then require something of yourself: 

require the drive to work hard and succeed at what you love.

 I expect that of myself – day in, day out – and I’m able to look back in amazement at what’s been 

accomplished.
